and i think if she knew
the day your green eyes turned blue
she would have just fallen harder.

i think if she'd seen
my eyes blazing jealousy green
she would have just gripped tighter.

i lead myself to believe
if she ever came to read
any of the notes between us two,
she'd just want you better,
so i'll rip up every letter
here's to hoping your fling ends soon.

it still hurts.
i made up reasons and lies.
because i never knew rejection
til you shot me from your skies.
it still burns.
and she's just pouring salt in it
i'll admit it, your team's winning.

you must feel real clever
making me look so dumb.
seeing your goddamn face everyday
makes me feel dirty and numb...

tell your newgirlfriend i said,
have fun finishing my leftovers.
