She broke a long time ago.

Her name was sweet Alisa.

She was spring itself; an average girl.

Went to a school with a deep secret,

A department had been breaking girls.

Their souls scarred, bodies tattered and used.

The teachers loved her, perhaps too much.

A night came when betrayal flew.

Most trusted intellects tore her heart apart.

Couldn’t live with herself,

One of the many—her innocence gone

Lived and died.

Existence kept, but cold eyes took on.

Lost hope of all help,

What did she do to deserve this?

Her captors never persecuted; trialed.

Young and smart, they laughed

At her naivety.

Never had anyone talked, they said.

So she killed.

Revenge was a bloody thing.

How foolish. How stupid.

Never should they have taken

Her. New life she had

After she drank their blood.

Ate their bitter flesh.

Tortured them until they

Screamed forgiveness.

Sweet, sweet misery

She named herself Melissa,

So close the sound of malevolence.
