Sitting here, minding my own business

I hear footsteps, voices, and so I look over

…there you are…

…here they come…

I feel them welling in the bottom of my stomach

They generate such a buzzing heat

Their wings begin to flutter

And they make my cheeks blush

They flutter and fly inside of me

As you walk on by

And then I see your eyes

They connect with mine

I muster up the courage to say Hi

And you reply so sweetly

Such a short moment feels like eternity

…and then you’re gone…

…and then they’re gone…

They wait patiently and still at the bottom of my stomach

Waiting for you to come to me again
