Two Seats Back

I thought I was over you

Years ago my crush died out

Never to return, or so I thought

But here I am

Watching you with the corner of my eye

And desperately trying to discover

If she's your friend, or something more

Your eyes still capture me when I see them

Your smile still makes me weak at the knees

I still want to know what it feels like

To have your hand holding mine

Or my head against your chest

I thought I had rid myself of this crush

But I was apparently wrong

Now, more than ever

I hope that you'll say you like me

I pray that you'll ask me to the dance

Though I'm sure you're already taken

Maybe you'll notice me looking at you

And maybe you'll realize that

I'm the one for you and no one else

Oh God, why couldn't I keep this crush at bay?

Why must I see you so much everyday?

I really like you, that's all there is to it,

Yet it's a forbidden love

And there's not much I can do

Except sit here and pine for the boy

Sitting just two seats back
