Mrs. Shelton

Final

Much Like Her

You never told me what to do,

You never told me what to say,

And I’m just learning now,

Since you all just walked away.

You always told me not to cry,

She always told me to go ahead,

You never told me to be creative,

She always told me just to try.

I wish you’d tell me its okay,

I’ve tried and tried,

But you always walk away,

She never walked away.

You never tried to comfort me,

She always did the best she could,

You never listened to what I said,

She answered me with solid words.

I wish you’d take the time to watch me,

I wish you’d take the time to support me,

I hardly ever see you there,

She was never too far from us.

Sometimes I wish that she’d come back,

You just never show,

You always tell me to just be quiet,

She wanted me to talk to her.

Sometimes I feel like you don’t want me,

Sometimes I’d bet anything that’s true,

She always wanted me,

So very much unlike you.

I love you,

I know you know,

You just never let your feelings show,

I wish you could always be,

So very much like her.
