Darkness.
Alone, frightened.
Lost in the dark.
No one there to help.
No one there to listen.
No one hears my cry.

Lightning.
Darkness vanishes,
Light breaks through.
Dark turned to light.
All at once,
I am no longer alone.

Shadows.
Always remain with me,
Never to leave,
Ever to stay.
Bright light casting dark shadow.
Light is with me,
But the dark is still near.

Conflict.
Between my light and darkness,
Always fighting.
New Man against Old Adam.
Sometimes, goodness wins.
Too often, it loses.

Darkness.
Still frightened.
But no longer alone,
No longer lost in the dark.
Someone is there to help.
Someone is there to listen.
Someone hears my cry, and answers me,
And saves me from myself.
