Introduction
Twin Moons is my first novel, it’s fairly rough, I’m hoping to clean it up within the next year and publish it. It was the story that really shaped the Krith world setting, and in places I think it has too much emphasis on scenery and not enough on plot. Actually... I know it does. But it’s not easy to be sure where.
But hey, that’s what this place is for, right? If I do something correct, please do tell me, I am not a man who thinks you can’t learn from what you do right. If I do something WRONG, if the pacing is bad or the dialogue doesn’t work or I’m failing to explain things which really do need explaining, then please point it out.
That’s kind of it, from me, except to give you an idea of what you’re in for.
Twin Moons is set in the capital city of Inkara, Kainas. It centers on the internal troubles of the Reapers’ Guild, one of the eight Guilds who part-rule the Kingdom, just underneath the King. The lead character, Brianna, is a mere initiate, born and raised in the Guild after losing her parents, who were both Reapers. After the Guild’s Dy (second ranked member) betrays and murders half of the Guild’s members, Brianna is slowly drawn into the maddening web of conspiracy, double think and plotting that surrounds the Reapers’ upper echelons.
Over time, through discoveries, she is forced to flee the city, to seek one man who might be able to save her Guild from destruction. Pursued by the agents of her mysterious enemies, accompanied only by two friends in the Reapers and a hapless warrior drawn by honour into a world he hates, she journeys far to the South for answers... before coming back to end it all.
It’s a long road. Hope it’s a fun one. If you like this, feel free to read the other stories I’ve got posted, which further build on the Krith mythos and world, revealing more of its peoples and places.
I will endeavour to return all reviews, and will answer any specific queries by e-mail. Now, I’ve rambled more than enough. To the textmobile.
