Do you dance for me Anjali?
Or for the beat of the sun as it sets,
and the thump of the elephant’s march?

Do you dance for me Anjali?
Whisping your vails in the still wind,
and gladly gliding your glimmering body
in the pulse of the moment;
under the solitude and secrecy of the shade.

Do you dance for me Anjali?
Or to nourish nature’s hunger and
please the prowlers who watch?

Do you dance for me Anjali?
Thin pink skies melt into purple,
purposely pacing the dance.
Slow, sensual, soft, shallow -
Anjali! Pulsating through her;
Anjali! Glistening and glowing,
Anjali! Keep going,
faster and faster
twirling, spinning, clapping, evolving, changing, tripping,
keep going and going,
faster and faster and –
STOP!

Do you dance for me Anjali?
Or for the beat of the sun as it sets,
and the thump of the elephant’s march?
