Missing You

I’m quite amazed
At how lonely I feel
When you’re not here with me
When I’m not there talking with you

With the phone lying a hands width
From the tips of my fingers,
Your house just a turn of the key and
A step on a pedal away

And strangely I’m missing you
But when you’re there
I seem to take you for granted
Cuz time just flies by

Then it’s soon time to leave
And I regret not keeping track
Of all the moments we could’ve
Shared as I stood beside you

The words unspoken
Lingering in the air
Floating on the tip of my tongue
Dissolved into nothing

When all I have left is a picture
Of your casual smile
Tugging at the strings
Connected to my heart

And I’m quite amazed
At how lonely I feel
When you’re not here with me
When I’m not there talking with you
