Who Am I?

I am a miniscule ball of fur

I stalk the lonely abyss,

Justified.

In the depths of the black hole that lies in front, around, behind me,

I yearn to obtain the tiny prey

That festers under my skin.

My forest green eyes reflect pallid

In the hollow moon,

Giving my round, pleasant face

The fierceness it deserves.

My wispy tail

Hovers fluidly in the midnight air,

A sign of my contracted poise and

Elegance.

Suddenly, there!

A fearful movement to my left

Causes me to jump in the atmosphere.

Lightly padded but futile claws

Gracefully leaving the ground in preparation.

My chainsaw mouth closes over the tender flesh,

And the mouse is mine.
