you blossomed me for a ballet dancer,
palms out and taut,
body stretched like bubble gum
popped
and sticking

(red like his mangled eye sockets,
faint like the heartbeat).

a fevered kiss
for the misdemeanor,
shackles for the felony,

your hands, your hands on

me.

an eye
for the burning
question (smirk/smirk).

you say, come
and stay a while
,
between

his fingers in my throat,
i remember the last word

(mozart)

like hard candy-
