Life Eternal,
by P.H. Wise
Crickets
Empty classroom with
everyone's things still in it
seen through leaves and
tree-boughs
sound of sprinklers on
the pavement
lampglow washing out
the stars
I want to say
'unfinished,' but it's not exactly.
Time doesn't hurry - it
is;
the wet pavement
the star-leaved boughs
the lampglow
and the distant sound
of 'tuba mirum spargens
sonum'
