Two Classes Two Worlds

Chapter 9: (Title Undecided)

Mariea was packing what little stuff she had left when Kia came in.

“Mariea I was…What are you doing?”

“Kia…”

“Why are you packing?”

“I’m leaving for a little while, I was about to come tell you”

“Yeah, when your about to leave” Kia said, her voice full of hurt.

“I just found out this morning, When I come back I promise to explain everything.

So please understand”

Kia was silent, she couldn’t think of a thing to say.

“Why can’t you tell me? We’re supposed to tell each other everything”

“I swore I wouldn’t”

“Alright, um please come back soon” Kia said feeling betrayed in away.

“I will, I have to get going”

“Alright, bye” Kia said giving her a hug.

Kia walked to the courtyard and sat down on the grass. She saw Fox talking to someone as he looked up at her. She smiled slightly and turned her head away. A few minuets later Fox came up and sat beside her.

“What’s troubling you Kia?” Fox asked in a low tone.

“Mariea just told me she’s leavening soon, even thought she didn’t tell me why I feel like something bad has happened”

“I see, she’ll be fine. It’s only going to be for a little while”

Kia looked over at him, “You’re leaving too?”

“Yes I am”

“Who’s all leaving and be totally honest”

“Mariea, Zen, Kiane, and a couple of other night class students and of course me”

“Why?”

“I can’t tell you right now, I can…”

“Tell me when you come back… I know. I wish I wasn’t so left out. Why isn’t anyone telling me anything?” Kia asked pulling her legs up and wrapping her arms around them.

“It’s for the safety of everyone”

Kia just looked up at him with tears spilling over. Fox reached out to her and held her. She wasn’t sure what was happening but she knew she liked the feeling he gave her.

She leaned back, “Fox I…”

Her words were stopped when fox kissed her. When he pulled back his eyes opened.

“Wow” was all Kia could say.

He smiled and she knew she was possibly falling.

“I must go; we’ll continue this when I come back”

She stood up with him, “Be safe” she said giving him a hug.

“I will”

--

Two cars arrived to pick them up. Kiane and Mariea had one to themselves and Fox, Zen and three others took the larger of the two vehicles.

Mariea looked out the window as they pulled out of the school, her home. She looked back towards Kiane, who was deep in thought. He kept his face perfectly blank and his eyes were so unreadable. She slowly shifted her position so she was snuggled up next to him. He looked down at her and put his arm around her.

“What are you thinking about?” Mariea asked him

“You”

She blinked, “What about me?”

“I’m worried when I turn you, you might not be the same, and what’s to come with cousin”

“I will be the same” Mariea said laying her head on his chest, “and for your cousin you’ll win and everything will return to normal. So don’t worry so much”

“I hope so dear one, I hope so”

--Later that night--

She had just gotten to sleep when Kiane woke her to say they arrived. Mariea looked out, the house was beautiful. When the car parked Mariea opened her door to find Zen standing next to her.

“Zen are you ok?”

“I haven’t fed in days, but I’m fine”

“You don’t take the pills Kiane gave you?”

“No, I cannot stand them, they make me sick”

“You’ll die if you don’t, go to the forest there are animals there”

“Maybe”

“Please Zen, go feed before the battle or you’ll be too weak to fight and you’ll be useless.”

A moment of silence stretched between them.

“Sorry if that was harsh”

Zen just smiled, he’d never seen her so angry before.

“It’s ok, Lets go, I know you’re tired”

Zen bent to pick up her luggage when Kiane walked up to him. Kaine noticed his eyes, and the way he held himself and his eyes narrowed.

“Why haven’t you fed?”

“Because I haven’t, and the pills make me sick”

“Go to the woods” Kane said taking Mariea’s luggage out of his hands, “and feed. now” Kiane said talking Mariea by her elbow and leading her towards the house. When Mariea looked back, Zen was gone. She turned back to the house. It was like and old Victorian castle. It was very beautiful.

“Kiane your house is so beautiful”

“Thank you, it’s been in my family for hundreds of years. I’m going to show you our room. You need to sleep; your training will start tomorrow”

“Alright thank you, please call father I’m sure he’s worried”

“I will goodnight” Kiane said then left her in the room by herself to get ready.

Slipping into the huge mattress felt great. And it was very easy to find sleep.

Mariea jumped when she felt someone touch her.

“It’s alright, it’s just me” Kiane whispered. Putting his arm around her.

“Sorry, I don’t know why I jumped”

“It’s aright, go back to sleep”

The next afternoon Kiane took Mariea out to court yard for her training.

“Ok Mariea this worked for me when I was human too so close your eyes and listen”

Mariea closed her eyes as Kiane continued to speak.

“Turn off all your senses but keep your ears open. Listen to everything around you the wind…everything”

“If your mind is set like this right before a battle or fight you’ll be in way better shape then you normally are.”

Kiane took out his weapon and took a defensive position.

“Now let’s see if it worked”

Instantly Kiane ran and took a swing but Mariea blocked it and she took one of her own. The other end of her blade was blocked but it almost got him in the side. He was not expecting that from her even though her staff is double bladed.

“That was excellent” Kiane said smiling.

“Now repetitive attacks are much more difficult to keep up with, Cousin probably wasn’t expecting you to fight back the first time. That’s why you were able to cut him in the side. But now he knows you fight and anyone he brings with him will know too. So you’ll have to be extra careful.”

“I will”

“There is only one move that you can use that will work for sure but I don’t know if I should show you”

“Why?” Mariea asked

“You could get hurt”

“The chance is already there”

“If you’re sure…”

“Teach me”

--

Later on that night Mariea was standing on the balcony. iPod in her ears she looked out at the forest surrounding most of the land she could see.

Kiane came up behind her and grabbed her.

“Hey! why did you scare me?”

“Never listen to your iPod out here; your senses always need to be open”

“I’m sorry” Mariea said turning away.

“Its alright I didn’t mean to raise my voice” He took her hand and turned her to him. He kissed her with much verosity. After a few moments, he pulled back and buried his face into her neck. Kissing her neck made his fangs appear but he quickly pulled away and turned away from her.

Shocked Mariea said, “What... What’s wrong?”

“I…I almost bit you” Kiane said keeping his back to her, and gripping the banister with such strength. Mariea walked up behind him and leaned to see his face. His fangs were still out and his eyes black.

“It’s alright”

“No its not! I shouldn’t have, I haven’t fed in a couple nights but that’s still no reason” Kiane said in a strained voice. His fingers relaxed some and his fangs starting to disappear but his eyes still black”

Mariea looked out thinking. I want to be changed. So he doesn’t have to worry about protecting me all the time. I’ll just be in the way if I’m not turned and I’ll be able to protect myself. Mariea used the edge of her nail to make a small cut in her neck. The cut was small but deep enough to bleed.

Kiane smelled the blood he turned his head towards her and his eyes widened when he saw her. His fangs coming back as well.

“What are you doing?” Kiane bit through his teeth.

“Other than you not feeding, I will not chance you dying for me” Mariea said turning her neck to him. The blood was dripping down as she moved to stand in front of him.

“Stop tempting me Mariea, my will power is fading”

“You need to feed, and I want to be like you, so I can defend myself without worry from you”

He put his hand around her neck and brought her to him. His eyes on her neck everything in his body is telling him too but his mind is fighting.

“Brother I smell blood, it’s not …..” Fox stopped eyes wide.

Kiane looked up “Fox get her away from me”

Fox noticed his brother’s eyes and fangs and quickly ran up to them and took her from him.

“No! Let me go! He needs to feed and I can’t risk his life for protecting mine. Please Fox let me go!” Maria yelled trying to get out of his grasp. Kiane watched her leave, after hearing what she said he understood. He turned away and waited until he could face her, and everyone else.

--

When Mariea returned to the balcony Kiane was gone. She walked out to the edge and looked down. Why can’t you just turn me? It would make everything so much easier. Mariea thought. She heard someone behind her. She figured it was Kiane.

“Kiane, I’m …”Mariea stopped. It was Obenki. Before Mariea could scream he hit her, and she fell unconscious. The gash in her head was small but it started to bleed; leaving a small drop on the balcony floor. Obenki picked her up and ran off into the night.
