So, this is a poem I wrote, and please don’t complain about the fact that it doesn’t rhyme. Rhyming wasn’t my intention. Anyway, I wrote this with a true heart. The man I’m dedicating it too it my father, a man who’s life made the world bearable…
Dedicated to:
Clifford
August 31, 1949 – February 5, 2003
Time in a bottle
A whispery notion,
And illusion of thought
Tried by many
Forgotten by not
Anyone who’s lost a loved one dear
To them I salute without fear
A box for regrets
Is something everyone has
Filled to the brim
With shame I stare at my own
As I think of all the ways, all the days
I could have told you ‘I love you.’
Hesitantly my lips could have spoken
Just how much
Your life meant to me
Time to go through
Eons of breath
A mountain of hope
I saw in your eyes
Forever and ever you should
Be by my side
But plans don’t always work
When there’s time to go through
Days last forever
Grief drags you down
By means unknown to me
I’ve conquered the Clown
Of Fear
But still I wish
And it won’ come true
I miss you
I want to feel your arms around me
Your love surround me
But days last forever
There’s time to go through
A box of regrets I’ll always have
Time in a bottle
A whispery notion
An illusion of thought….
AN – So that’s it. Please review and tell me what you think. I’d love to hear from you…
