Just a note: These characters were NOT all thought up by me, in fact I've gotten their permission to use them in this kind of story. And the ways they are portrayed here are the ways in which I think they react to different situations...
NOW! On to the Adventure!!!
-------------------------------------------------------------------
One bright afternoon, there was a small gathering of people inspecting a wooden sign that had been posted in the middle of their village. It read:
To all the citizens of this unnamed village...
You have two days to gather all your gold and precious things to this post... If you do not gather these things by the specified day, we will ransack your village and destroy lots of even more precious things. We are sure you don't want that to happen, so let's just make this easy for all of us.

One villager stared at the sign and turned to the crowd behind him.
"Fellow villagers! Whoever posted this will not get our possesions! Instead, we will tighten our security! Make haste in these two days to protect your homes and families!"
Everyone went back to their homes and began to gather large pieces of wood and stones to build up as barricades for their homes. Everyone in the village borders was working intently. That is, everyone except for a young woman watching everyone else do the work. She could have helped, and she wanted to, but then she knew that her friends would find out she'd helped them. She sighed and turned and followed the path back to where she left one of them.
"Hey..." The young woman sounded a bit depressed. She stood next to another girl who had tilted her head in great curiosity.
"What's up, Ev? Why so blue?" She put an arm on her shoulder and peered into the woman's sad emerald eyes.
Ev lifted her head a bit and responded, "Nothing, Dev... just sad that I can't help out.."
"Why would you want to help? We promised you'd get your fair share if you DIDN'T help..."
"That doesn't make ANY sense!" Evelyn retorted.
Evelyn was slightly taller than Dev, who now had her hands on her hips. "Yeah-Huh! If you help, it wouldn't be fair! We want to have adventure too!" Dev whined.
"Fine...you guys go spoil that poor village...I'll just watch..Oh, and I don't want any of the gold..." Evelyn paused for a small moment. "It doesn't look like they have anything..."
Dev shook her head defiantly. "No. No. No. This one WILL have treasure! Just because the other ones didn't...and they threatend to kill us... doesn't mean this one won't have any.." Dev smirked and began to count how man brown sacks she had gathered when they would all go and collect the goods.
Evelyn said nothing and started walking away, looking at the ground. Two seconds later, she bumped into someone, who also wasn't looking. The moment they bumped was followed by Evelyn being pulled in by the other with a knife to her neck. But at the same time, Evelyn had conjured a blue flame and threatened it against the other person's bright red hair. The one with the knife realized instantly who they tried to 'silence' and released her at once.
"Sorree...I thought you were one if the village people...er..." He paused and started cracking up at his own statement.
"Not funny."
"Yeah it is! C'mon Ev!" He shoved his elbow into hers. "Be a little optomistic...'sides...what did you see?"
Evelyn was a bit reluctant. She didn't want the villagers to get hurt and she didn't want to disappoint her friends. "Well..."
"Well..?"
"Well..I saw them look at the sign..." Evelyn glanced off into the trees with a raised brow.
"Good start, I guess.." He looked in the same direction as Ev and looked concerned. "You feeling okay?"
Evelyn nodded and walked past him quickly. The guy with red hair watched her, almost about to follow, but instead turned to Dev who had stopped to watch them.
"What's up with her?" He asked confusedly.
Dev nodded to Ev. "She feels bad for the village people---Hey, I thought it was funny!" She laughed softer but in the same manner as the guy with red hair, who happened to be called "Red".
Red shrugged it off and helped count the sacks.
"22!"
Dev stuck a piece of the sack in his mouth because he was being too loud and Red gagged and pulled out the sack, "Bleck!"
He spent about five minutes rubbing his hands down his tongue to get the taste of old potatoes out. Dev snickered and stopped when she couldn't see Ev anymore. She figured she went towards some body of water she thought Ev was so good at finding.
