The END

“No”, she screamed, as her life crashed around her like glass, falling from hundreds of miles in the sky. Tears screamed down her face as she clutched the tattered remains of her fictionary life. The bloody shreds of Past hung about her, covering her more fully than any clothing could have done.

Her loss was everything, her life, her love, her hope, her future. It was a twist of fate, a throw of the die. She was no more deserving of this fate than any other person.

“It isn’t so”, she whispered. She stood up and began to run, leaving behind her the death of innocence, and of her truth. There was solace in running, in pushing herself past the limit she could endure. But she was already past that point. They had forced her there.

She didn’t know if They had meant to, only that They did. Her world was shades of gray and a soft, almost fawn colored lilac. The rest was Blood.

It pounded in her body, clumped like footsteps behind her, forcing her to run faster when in reality she wasn’t moving at all. Her mind moved forward, leaving her an emotionless husk. Her eyes drained of all life and her limbs hung heavy. What did They care? They were the reason she was torn. They were Hate and Malice, forcing her to see that not all was as she saw, or wished it could be.

And in the end, They are what destroyed her Soul. What left her an empty husk…

and They are satisfied.
