A/N- This was the original deliverance of the most important scene in the story, but this one was so pointless. I thought it would be nice to add, but I dropped it. It meant to have more meaning later on, but that was way to long to wait for. The scenes in this little installment are what I actually copied down. This was when I decided to start saving my material. Some scenes that were in existence but never did get saved include a small scene with Shugo and two gay warriors talking in chapter 4, but I thought that was awful shounen-ai placements, there are many alternate ways that chapter 14 started, and a scene that built up was Hideo-San choosing to fight Rei after findin out she is an outsider. They fight momentarily, but I stopped writing it because i thought the fight was a sore thumb.
“No, there was more to it. I left the city in fear because the way things were handled was sickening. Upon leaving a motorized vehicle, which is something you’ve only heard legend of—one had gone over the side of a road before crashing. As the fire cleared, I was able to search inside it for myself. I wanted to see what was inside it. Two men had been inside the front of it when they were killed, but I heard crying in the back of the truck. There was life.”
“No, tell me I’m not hearing this. All of this is a myth.”
“No myth my child. I opened up the back of this vehicle to see a vast open space covered in blood from where there were dozens of dead beings. Each of them had been crushed in the accident—the sight still horrifies me to this day. The bodies had the form of the human, but their insides showed things different because I for one have seem many of the dead. These dead were not human, more of machine. I kept searching. The fires caught up, so I looked faster before seeing a young child. One amongst them. I grabbed something out of the crates which was a dress, or something of that sort, a kimono per say, maybe even a special weapon for them.” Hideo-Ni pointed at the weapon. “That was beside it, so I quickly wrapped up the child in the kimono, and then took the weapon. That child—“
“It’s not true.” Rei said as she felt denial.
“You are not from here. I doubt your true existence of a human. In truth, you are an outsider that I found.”
Rei sat down before propping her head up. She felt stomach quickly before thinking of what the possibilities of her not being human were. These emotions she shared, the ones she has, the ones she felt now—all that and is it even real?
“You are one of them, I chose myself not to admit it. There was something about you that told me not to let go. If I have hurt you now, I am sorry. I am sorry about all of the pain that you’ve experienced now and what could have been prevented.” Hideo-Ni said as he placed his hands on her shoulders.
“Hideo-Ni,” Rei said back as she placed her right hand on her left shoulder, “am I a human? If not, then that means I’m just an outsider—a machine—and you chose to raise me. I’m an exile. It’s against the laws of the land to keep me. What do I do?”
“I can’t make that decision. I only chose to tell you this because if the new army arrives, you can stop them. I will stand by you whatever decision you make. Are you for us or them?”
Rei was silent at his question. She pouted for a second before thinking again about everything. Hideo-Ni stepped around her before sitting next to her with the somber look.
“If it seemed like such a burden, now if you thought of it would you have rather me of left you there? After learning it, was it all worth living to this moment? Would you have faced so much pain if I didn’t take you?” Hideo-Ni asked before being cut off.
“No, I would have died if you didn’t take me. Now that I look at it, I am thankful to have met you, Hideo-San, this clan, and,” Rei was silent before answering again, “Shugo. What am I to do now?”
“I believe now that you are the one chance we have of fighting off this menace. What lies in here is something from the new world that is forbidden. At this moment any measure should be taken to stop this threat. The main thing I have to ask is are you wiling to break the laws of nature to battle for us?”
“I will.” Rei said hesitantly.
Hideo-Ni sat up after hearing how she answered this question. Rei seemed troubled about something, but she stood up.
“Is something troubling you?” Hideo-Ni asked.
“It was about how you told me of the city… No, it’s nothing. Let’s move on.” Rei replied as she tried to walk for the weapon.
“What is it Rei? I’ve already caused enough pain tonight; I do not want to show you something else that might cause more.”
“It’s fine. It’s not about me or what you told me of the weapon. It’s ok!”
“Hai.”
