A+ A- |
The ending I thought would have done better, and I was going to go with it until I saw how flawd it was. I didn't like Rei's addition at the end. It was too cheery. I didn't like it either. If I wasn't so strung up you might have had to have settled with this ending. I hope you all liked the one I went with.
Another Ending
"This is my destiny!" Orion screamed out as he flashed white.
His body exploded before tearing apart the power plant. The structure fell to the ground whilst all the collected power just drifted upwards into a mist before fading out. Gelinka's eye went blood shot as he felt a tremendous amount of power exit his body. Rei pushed forwards and snapped his blade in two before gashing him wide open. Before she could pull the katana out, her opponent quickly flashed back and became Yuki momentarily.
"Rei." Yuki said blankly before the sword left her body.
She transformed back before feeling the shock of Rei's attack. Gelinka fell back towards the city below and stopped in mid air just as he regained some power. The aura around Rei faded away while her sword began to glow bright gold. After seeing Yuki again, she began to remember that this opponent was still her. Now it was a binary choice, kill Gelinka and kill Yuki or let him go while he kills her and destroys the world.
"That monster!" Gelinka screamed out as the cosmos cradle energy began to drift away. "Hurry Reina, we must end this now! I've got bigger plans. If your lucky you just might die and then you'll be with your family again. I won't deny you of that pleasure!" Gelinka locked his fists together before taking aim again. "This time it won't fail!"
Rei closed her eyes before the decision came up. Go. Gelinka powered up his attack while she charged downwards. After firing it towards her, she warped past it and this shocked him right off. Before his attack could even reach the clouds he felt her blade rip right through his torso. A massive amount of his energy went away with that. Next he felt her sword rip through his back before once again it went through his left arm. Rei swung around to his front before lifting her blade upwards into the air. Gelinka glared into her eyes before the katana ripped into his head and then through his torso. Rei's golden form went away her target fell to the ground. Once he struck, a bright light surrounded him before he reverted into Yuki. Beta's metallic body flew aside before landing against the ground. Steam began to rise up out of his body while he tried to stand up. Rei stared him off while his body began to melt down into a small puddle.
"Reina." Beta said with a smirk as his body formed into the puddle.
There was nothing after that. Once he became a puddle, the remains began to evaporate into the air. Rei breathed once more before looking towards Yuki who was still scarred up from the battle. All of the wounds once inflicted on Gelinka went directly into her. In a pool of her blood, she didn't even get the chance to say goodbye to Rei.
"Oh no, Yuki! No! NO!" Rei cried out in denial before dropping to the ground. After cradling Yuki in her arms tears began to fall one by one. "Oh Yuki, no, don't die on me like this!"
Rei sat back with her close against her chest. All of the blood from Yuki's wounds dripped onto her assassin's robe. Yuki laid motionless, life ended for her moments ago. Mezrich drove closer to the battle ground, and luckily enough he was still alive as the chaos ensued. After seeing Rei cradling Yuki's corpse and crying, he stopped the vehicle before lowering his head and choking up a tear.
"No Yuki, not like this! I'm sorry! I wouldn't have wanted it to be this way! Yuki, don't leave me! I'm tired of being alone; I don't want it this way. You're all I've ever wanted!" Rei cried again before breaking down.
"Turn the Page"
Preferably Metallica's cover...
On a long and lonesome highway, east of Omaha.
You can listen to the engine moaning out its one lone song
You can think about woman, or the girl you knew the night before,
But your thoughts will soon be wandering, the way they always do.
When your riding sixteen hours and there's nothing much to do
And you don't feel much like riding, you just wish the trip was through. Hmmmmmm,
Say, here I am, on the road again.
There I am, up on the stage.
Here I go, playing star again,
There I go, turn the page.
Well you walk into a restaurant, strung out from the road,
You can feel the eyes upon you as you're shaking off the cold,
You pretend it doesn't bother you, but you just want to explode.
Most times you can't a hear 'em talk, other times you can,
All the same old cliches, "is that woman or a man?"
You always seem outnumbered, you don't dare make a stand.
Here I am, on the road again.
There I am, up on the stage.
Here I go, playing the star again.
There I go, turn the page.
Out there in the spotlight you're a million miles away,
Every ounce of energy, you try and give away,
As the sweat pours out your body like the music that you play.
Later in the evening as you lie awake in bed,
With the echoes from the amplifiers ringin' in your head,
You smoke the day's last cigarette, rememberin' what she said.
Now here I am, on the road again.
There I am, up on the stage.
Here I go, playing star again.
There I go, turn the page.
Here I am, on the road again.
There I am, up on the stage.
Ah here I go, playing star again.
There I go, there I go.
Rei sniffled at the sight of the city behind her. She had paid her debts, finished her revenge, and then lost it all in one day. It was time to get moving.
"Is this how you really want this to be?" Mezrich asked her as she walked.
"Yeah, it is." Rei replied.
"You've got a home here if things get heavy. You are welcome here."
"Thanks. I'll see you around."
"Goodbye Reina."
She walked on before stopping and turning to him, "Don't call me that. It's Rei."
"Got it." Mezrich replied.
Rei turned away and kept walking before choking up a tear for the sake of her family and friends lost before. Wallowing in pain wasn't helping her, but she choked up a tear for Yuki and smiled before just walking ahead.
