One of his Lies

-

You know someone once told me,

To stop being like this.

As I am far too diverse,

And it is the good side I’ve missed.

-

He went out of his way,

To tell me my way was wrong.

Whatever did they mean,

When they ranted for so long?

-

Because I’m just a sad little kid,

Who’s wrapped up in his own mess.

I’m just a to-be-murderer,

And I don’t kill others in my distress.

-

So the days ambled by,

And the deaths tolled up high.

-

Each day I left even more behind,

And there was no good I could find,

Apparently so, he said.

-

Every time I saw a child smile,

I’d break down and die.

-

The tears I cried were the black of blood,

And weren’t natural as be they should,

Apparently so, he said.

-

That pattern of hell he made for me,

To walk on by with a torn up smile.

Was all this ever true?

Or was this all just one of his lies?

-

I’ll tell you the truth,

Just lean here close.

He’s not whom he deceives to be,

He’s just a part of my memory.

-

Fin
