Blessèd Are The Peacemakers
Did you ever notice
That there are always two sides?
And when someone tries
To claim neutral ground,
These enemies become allies,
To remove this threat of peace.
-
The peacemakers are few.
They tend to be the worst casualties.
Considering what they do,
Could someone please explain this to me?
-
They came to heal the sick,
But were burned and drowned.
They came with love and gifts,
But were robbed and beaten down.
-
We come with open arms,
Wishing to find peace.
Their eyes were filled with war,
And in their eyes, saw we were weak.
-
So how have we survived?
Why are we still alive?
Wars wage and people die,
But love is everlasting.
Humans kill and shred their souls,
But we believe and sing.
-
We smile and bring love,
But, still, are turned away.
The peacemakers try to work,
But are beaten and taken, night and day.
-
Does anyone notice,
That though we come,
We do not always leave?
The wars will wage and bring more death,
And then it goes away.
-
But who will stay
And heal the sick,
The wounded and the lost.
The ones who at first were turned away,
But never did give up.
-
Blessèd are the peacemakers,
For they are the brave.
They are the ones
Who face the greatest pains.
