Your eyes burn with an intense fire,

Oh, the sights you see!

Life presented on a pyre,

What will your choice be?

Will you love me forever,

And let me hold you when it’s cold?

Or will you forget this little endeavour,

And leave my heart to mould?

Forget diamonds and a mockingbird,

I don’t have that kind of money.

All I can give you is my word,

And laugh when you’re being funny.

Your secrets are safe with me,

You’ll never have to worry.

I’m never going to flee,

Not even in the worst flurry.

The darkness in this world has no meaning,

Your eyes shine with love so brightly.

Hope radiates from your smile, gleaming,

How I wish your hair could bite me nightly.

This is it, this is all I have to say,

Writing was my world, and now you too.

You may have these demons to slay,

So just know I’ll always be here for you.
