This I Hope For

So strong a bond/

You held me tight and tightly to your body/

Forever or just a year we stayed like that/

And now you hold me at arm’s length/

We look into each other’s eyes and know/

Know that something changed and that our laughter is forced/

I can barely stand to be there with you alone/

Like a lamb fed to the wolves I’ll turn into the bear and kill you/

Secretly I laugh at you and your stupidity/

Outside I laugh and inside I cry because I can’t lie, I do miss you/

I’ve wished for so much and this is what I hope for more/

I don’t pray and I don’t believe in stars anymore but this I do hope for/

For everything to be okay and to be with you forever/

For now though I walk the halls in an aware trance/

My eyes burn from looking for you and my heart has stopped pounding/

Stop my misery/

Come back to me.
