These three poems were written after listening to the new Evanescence CD a bit too much. I'm afraid that I've used a lot of similar imagery in them, but oh well! I like the imagery, at least!

With Winter in its Melody - Winter Cycle: Part One

Footprints in the snow, leading into the white wood

The black lace of the naked branches intertwining

The raven and the cardinal, dancing in the early twilight,

and a song with winter in its melody.

The drifting snowflakes whisper the secrets of eternity

The blue moonglow makes every imperfection beautiful

A single candle is shining in the darkness,

a song with winter in its melody.
