January's Daughter - Winter Cycle: Part Three

January's daughter, she blossoms in the cold.

She lives a life of swiftly falling nighttime.

Scion of the frozen time, she sees the beauty in the dark places.

The colors of her world are subtle -

The pale light of winter's dawning,

The blueness of the shadows on the snow.

The crowsong is the beating of her heart,

Her footsteps are the silence of the ice.

She breathes out the grey dusting of the frost.

When the robin sings, she falls asleep.

January's daughter, winter's child, she dreams.
