And we danced,

your long painted fingernails

digging painfully

into my shoulder blades,

holding me closer than dancing permitted.

The heat rising through me and

making my face flush brilliantly.

The cold eyes around us,

narrowed.

Watching us.

Judging us.

Hating us.

Your wild, dark hair sticking to your glistening face.

Our eyes locked,

bound by a spell,

no other could feel,

but kept us mesmerized.

My pale hair had long been released from the strand of red ribbon,

and now

fell loosely about my face

There was no music.

Nothing but the rhythm of our bodies.

The eyes were gone.

We were left alone

in the darkness of night,

the light from the moon

surrounded us

in an

unearthly glow.

Time no longer mattered.

My soul.

My heart.

My life.

Belonged to you.
