You cheer me up, you make me smile
You make me forget about certain things and move on

In all times, good and bad, you were by my side
The waves might have been ever so high
The sky might have turned darker than the night
You were there
Took my hand and guided me out of misery
Past the deep water
Past the darkness
To a brighter side of life

You erase my pain, you dry my tears
You make me feel special and just so happy

All these moments in which I felt so miserable
When I felt unloved by any being on this planet
When I felt lonely among all these people
You were there
Looked at me and listened to my words
Trying to help me
Trying to soothe me
For being happy again

You did so much for me in all these years
I didn't always acknowledge it
Sometimes I was too selfish
Sometimes I was too stubborn
But deep inside I always cared

You always found the right words for me
I could never seem to find them
To express my feelings
To express my thoughts
But now I'll give it a try

Thank you for supporting me all the time
Thank you for accepting me how I am
Thank you for understanding me

I wrote this for a friend of mine after she showed me how precious our friendship was. And she was as touched as I had been. Guess it's important to say how much you like your friends once in a while.
