Beauty and the Beast
The ugliest of beasts stood staring over the brilliant waves
He glowed bright upon the sandy shore
His heart and soul as cold as winter and the wind
His mind thinking of what he may never get
His body aching from the pain in his heart
His back turned against the world and his live
And in his rough, misshapen hand was a crimson rose
The most beautiful of maidens walked alone through the dark woods
Toward the light upon the shore
Her heart and soul as warm as the summer and the sun
Her mind clean and pure of all evil
Her body outstretched so love can take it
Embracing the world and those around it
And in her smooth, ivory skinned hand was a crimson rose
The ugliest beast and the most beautiful maiden
Stand upon the shore glowing bright as the sun
That sank before them
Both different yet the same
Both longing Both wanting
Two roses twined together as crimson as the setting sun
