Andy listen to me and listen well,” A strong voice came. Andy was dreaming and he knew it. He was alone in a dark room with only one light shining down on him. He was sitting on a wooden chair. There appeared to be nothing holding him to the chair, but when he tried to get up, he couldn’t. “Andy listen!” The voice demanded again.

“I’m listening!” The prince whined. Another light shined down across from him only a few feet away and a figure materialized there. “Michael?”

“Andy hush, I do not have long and you need to know what is going on.” Andy’s dead brother said. Andy sat in total silence looking up at his brother. He knew it was a dream, but maybe that really was Michael’s spirit coming to visit him. Maybe Ayden was wrong, there could be something after death. “Ayden isn’t what you think. He doesn’t care for you. In fact, he hates you.”

“No he doesn’t! He seems to care for me.” Andy answered.

“Well he’s lying to you. He’s one of them Andy! He’s an elf. When I was younger I got into a fight with his older brother, Cylus. I killed him. Ayden was out for revenge. He killed me, Andy! And because he is the crowned prince of the Elves, he’s going to have to kill you also. If there is no heir to the thrown, the city will be up for grabs and the elves will move in. Andy he’s a spy! Haven’t you heard of Ayden the Elvin prince? He’s a blood thirsty killer. He feels nothing! You have to kill him before he kills you Andy. Our entire kingdom’s future is in your hands!” Michael exclaimed. Andy sat in the chair that seemed to suck him into it more each time he tried to move. Ayden couldn’t be that Ayden. His Ayden is nice and cares about him. The elf Ayden is cruel and hates everything. They can’t be the same boy. “Andy I know it hurts, but you have no other choice.”

“I want to wake up now Michael.” Andy said sullenly. Michael smiled sadly at his brother. He nodded and Andy was torn from the dream and back into reality.

Was it real or just a dream caused by his suspicions? Andy didn’t know what was right or wrong. He looked to his left and saw the perfect boy sleeping soundly. The sleeping youth’s chocolate-brown hair covered his eyes as he dreamed. Andy had to know. He slowly tucked Ayden’s hair behind one of his ears and was horrified to see what he saw. Elf ears. Andy’s eyes began to tear up as he realized that the boy sleeping next to him was the one who killed his brother and ruined everything Andy once knew. He was the very reason for Andy’s pain and tears. Ayden was no stable boy. He was the crowned prince of the elves. Andy stopped his crying. He realized how pathetic he had become over the past few weeks. Everything was happening so fast. He stood from the bed and began dressing in his day clothes. When he was finished he looked out the window. The elves were still waiting to battle the city for a final time.

“Has the battle begun yet?” A sleepy voice came from behind the human prince. Andy felt small arms snake around his waist and pull him closer to the body that the arms belonged to. Andy wouldn’t believe that a boy so small was so strong. He rested his arms on the elf’s and sighed. He didn’t know what to do now. Was Ayden really lying to him? Was he really planning on killing him? Andy didn’t know. And at this point-he stopped caring. Everything was going to ruin.

“No. I don’t think we know what they are really waiting for anyway.” Andy answered. Ayden kissed his Dark Prince’s ear lightly and rested his chin on the boy’s shoulder.

“A signal maybe.” Ayden stated. Andy’s mind began working again. He needed to bring this kingdom from ruin and back into greatness. He couldn’t give up like this and allow his brother’s death be a waste. Andy quickly turned around and stepped away from the grey-eyed boy.

“And how do you know that?” He spat. Ayden’s gray eyes flashed confusion and suspicion.

“I was just guessing! Why are you getting all suspicious?” His gray eyes burned into Andy until the poor prince couldn’t take it anymore. He felt his body temperature rise and he began to sweat.

“Why’d they send you?” The prince yelled. He needed a weapon. Ayden was going to stop pretending now.

“Send me?” Ayden asked softly. “Who?”

“The elves you moron! You’re the Elvin prince aren’t you?” Andy stepped back again to set a safe distance between the two boys.

“How’d you find out?” Ayden asked amused at the fear he was creating in the human prince.

“I had a dream. My brother told me you killed him and that you are an elf! My dream didn’t lie either.” Andy saw the amusement in the small elf’s eyes and knew that Michael was right. Ayden didn’t care for him.

“You’re dreams are oddly correct. I did kill your brother. But he killed mine first! If he hadn’t killed Cylus none of this would have happened! You would still have your beloved brother and I’d still have mine! We’d both be happy!” Andy now saw the weak spot in the Elvin prince.

“I’ll bet your brother never loved you the way mine loved me.” He taunted. Ayden clenched his teeth together as he took a step forward.

“You never met him! He loved me.” Ayden spat.

“Sure he did! I mean you did steal everything away from him. He was going to be the king until you came around. I’m sure he secretly hated you.” Andy snidely said. Ayden leaped forward knocking Andy to the ground. He held the Dark Prince firmly between his legs as he started to apply pressure to the human’s neck with one of his knees. Andy tried to shift the elf off but he was unable to move. His breathing was becoming scarce and he soon found himself suffocating. Just before he thought he was going to die Ayden stood up and moved away from the human. The elf sat on his knees and cried into his hands. His body shook fiercely as he continued to bawl. Andy was extremely confused now.

“You were just about to kill me and you just stopped?” He questioned hoarsely. The raven-haired prince gently rubbed his neck trying to ease the pain. Ayden stopped crying and looked up into the bright blue eyes of the human prince.

“My father told me never to love, that it will only destroy you in the end. I disregarded his advice and loved my brother, as two brothers should. When he died, I was angry at everything, even Cylus. I wouldn’t allow myself to love again. Then they sent me here. And I met you.” Andy’s disliking for the smaller boy quickly vanished as he wrapped his arms around Ayden. Ayden looked into the blue eyes he came to care for and smiled weakly. “They aren’t waiting for a signal. They’re waiting for the sun to get into position.”

“The sun has a position?”

“It always has a position stupid! When the sun is positioned over the castle the armor the elves are wearing will reflect into the human soldiers’ eyes making it easier for the elves to kill them.”

“Because my soldiers will be technically blinded?”

“Exactly.”

“Can you stop them?” Andy asked worriedly. He wanted this war to end without a drop of blood being spilled. But he already knew blood had been shed. His own brother’s blood still stains the carpet in the room his brother used to call his.

“No.” Ayden stated.

“When will the sun be in position?”

“I’m not sure. You’re room faces opposite from the town correct?” Ayden said standing up and looking out the window.

“Yes, why?”

“It’s almost time. They will be attacking any minute. Are your soldiers waiting at the walls?”

“I hope so!” Andy exclaimed running out of the room and towards his mother’s chambers. He didn’t bother knocking and went straight in.

“Andrew what on Earth?” She shouted.

“Do we have men positioned at the walls?”

“Yes of course. The elves are right behind them just waiting for something.” His mother said still not sure of Andy’s motives.

“They’re waiting for the sun.” As soon as Andy started back to his room he heard shouts and screams coming from the town. He heard men groaning and battle cries. “Shit!” Before he could reach his own room a guard came running towards him. Without stating his purpose he picked up the small boy and headed for Andy’s mother’s chambers.

“My lady, the town is under attack! We must get you both to safety.” The three were then accompanied by a small fleet of ten men and went down to the dungeon of the castle.

“Wait! My stable boy is still in my room!” Andy yelled trying to pull away from the guard’s grip he had on his arm.

“Andy, there’s something you need to know about your stable boy. I was going to have him arrested and killed but the guards couldn’t find him, and know I know why.”

“He’s the Elvin prince, yes I already know. But he’s my friend. I have to go back and get him!” Andy pulled from the guard’s grip and was finally free. He raced back into the castle and ran to his room. By the time he had reached it the Elvin army was pushing the army of men back farther and farther. The sun was working in their favor, almost a little too much.

“Ayden we need to leave now!” Andy shouted as he looked at the small boy sitting in one of Andy’s armchairs.

“You may need to but I do not.”

“Ayden please!”

“Andy you have no more time to run. My armies are already picking off your men one by one. By the time you reach the main floor this castle will be overthrown and the elves will have control.” Andy was in a slight panic. Would Ayden really allow Andy to be in danger?

“Do you love me?” Andy asked hurriedly. Ayden blinked in confusion at the words being spoken by the Dark Prince.

“Love you?”

“Do you?” Andy repeated. He was on the verge of just forgetting about Ayden and trying to make it out alive.

“I don’t know.” Ayden answered softly. Did he love him? Sure he cared for him but did he really love him? Even though he had only met the blue-eyed prince a few days ago he had heard so many stories about his beauty and yet horrific appearance. He had heard that the boy was bitter and only cared for one person, his brother. Other than Prince Michael, Andy could care less about the world. Andy stepped in front of the boy he once thought of as a low worthless stable boy. He pulled Ayden up and gently laid his lips on the elf’s. Ayden pulled back and stared at the human.

“I think I love you.” Andy said sweetly. Ayden pushed Andy away and moved to the other side of the room.

“I’m not allowed to love you Andy.” As soon as the words sunk into the blue-eyed prince’s mind, Elvin soldiers grabbed him and pushed him forcefully onto the floor. “I’m sorry Andy. The plan was that I come here and finish what I started. I was ordered to kill two princes and so far I’ve only killed one.

Yup, told you it was horrid.
