The girl in red never closes her eyes
No food touches her lips
She watches and waits
Collects daisy petals and stores them
Away from sunlight and air
And they like her loose color
She clings to the redness
And the daylight
And prays her children will stay
Just one more summer
She wills cut flowers to grow
