Fire

Glow

Matches

A smile wrapped along my hideous face

As I traipse along

back to my beginnings

as I carry fire

watching the glow

playing with matches

I arrive at my beginning

And cross my first bridge

Turning behind me

to set it ablaze

and watch it smolder

as i traipse on

to the next bridge,

I cross it,

and light it ablaze,

smiling wider now.

Finally, the biggest bridge,

you.

For you, I need a flamethrower

Nothing less will burn

the heartache from the depths of my mind

Nothing else will cleanse the emotional pain

from my soul...

Except maybe napalm or agent orange

but those are too hard to find.

No,

A flamethrower will do

to burn the bridges of my past

and forget the heartache of you.
