I am not who you think I am;

You don’t know me.

I’m not pretty

I’m not thin

I’m not green-eyed, blue-eyed, hazel-eyed

I’m not smart or intelligent

I’m not independent

I am not perfect

I’m not strong

I’m not brave

I’m not happy, joyful, contented

I’m not holding it together

I’m not right

I’m not certain, sure, positive

I’m not unselfish

I’m not needed

I don’t love myself

I am not who you think I am;

You don’t know me.

I’m dumb and stupid

I’m weak

I’m frightened, afraid, terrified

I’m angry

I’m depressed

I’m alone, isolated, defeated

I cry

I cry for the wrong reasons

I’m gray-eyed, the color washed away by tears

I’m wrong

I’m selfish

I hate myself

I’m just here

I’m unneeded

I’m worthless, useless, out of place

I’m lost

I’m wandering

I don’t know who I am or who I’m supposed to be

I’m wounded and hurt

I’m broken

I’m unsteady feet on rocky ground

I’m losing control

I’m biding time

I’m waiting, watching, eager

I’m vulnerable

I’m dependent

I need a friend

I am not who you think I am;

So don’t try.
