I Love You

I tried to talk myself out of it

Shook my head and had a fit

And even though I refused to admit

I love you.

Scared, I ran the other way

I'd leave it for another day

But my emotions came out to play

I love you.

I was pressed up against a wall

Feeling like I was one foot tall

Making me want to fall

I love you.

Not even the Grand Canyon could compare

To how much I've fallen on a dare

Hoping these words we could share

I love you.

I knew you wouldn't feel the same

My emotions I tried to tame

And then from you those words came

I love you.

I told myself I'd take it slow

But by holding back nothing can grow

So I just wanted to let you know

I love you.
