we were like fireworks
defiant and desirable
blazing pearls of infinite impossibilities against an inevitable end
and from those dizzy heights we fell

but we clutch at falling stars

and turn our eyes toward stormy skies

because perspective is a savior from the truth

a lesson learned and a lesson lived
everything has a time to die
the funeral was just a reminder
that the coffin lid won’t stay shut

and we continue drifting aimlessly
waiting for the rain and waiting for our release
blinded by the possibility of progress

we just keep falling behind...

a/n: saying goodbye is like forgetting how to breathe .. we just can't seem to do it.
