Four Letter Words

I don’t want to leave you/

I haven’t finished what I meant to say/

I closed my mouth when I went to speak/

And now I’m dying to tell you/

Literal heart stopping and brain deadened/

Inside I’m screaming so loud my thoughts pound to get out/

I break my own ear drums with the sound of my screams/

The whirlwind of words in my head are tearing me down/

Confused mess of love and hate/

You can only love a person so much/ So much you’d do anything to stop it/

Please come back to me/

Let me say everything I’ve meant to say/

Come back/ Come back and empty me out/

Your words are like oxygen while your back is another stab/

Stop killing me/ Come back and stand still for just two minutes/

I’ll pour out my thoughts like a musician’s pen on paper/

Like a writer’s thoughts on paper/

I’ll spill it to the air and to your ears and leave me empty/

Deflated but happy/ Dead but joyful/ Resting but with you/

Please come back to me/

Let me say everything I’ve meant to say/

Come back/ Come back and empty me out/

Empty me out/ Empty me out/
