This is something I wrote a while back and i finally decided to do something with it...I don't think it's very good, but other people keep telling me not to criticize my own work...so here it is...let me know what you think...

Fade to Black

Day by day

The children play

Never knowing the light will fade

I hear the screams of a distant world

Where the once beautiful land is slain

And what was once tranquil

Falls to darkness and pain

I stare at the desolation around me

The bloodstained streets and falling rain

And as people search for life and love

I weep for the world in shame

I weep for this world with so much pain

I feel and see the cold rain fall

The crystal drops pooling at my feet

They mix in with dust and blood

As if to show me what this means

Hate did this, I realize

It's torn us all apart

And now we lay in pieces

Falling to the dark

How so much hate can fill one place

I'll never understand

And as I see the hurt, this game

It takes me by the hand

I see the rain mix with the blood

The crystal turning red

And I can see these drops are tears

Tears which I have shed

So I stand and face the world alone

Unable to turn back

And now that we're no longer one

The crimson fades to black
