In the 5,003rd cycle of the Tyiicil Dynasty, a relatively short one by precedented standards, a great project was started, sanctioned by Lord Daris Tyiicil himself, to construct a bridge between the two enormous continents of Biviyep and Khlydar. The project would be costly: money, manpower, time, all would be needed. They were turbulent times, as the cult of Eryl Fai was growing stronger every day.
Eryl Fai was a dark sect. Sorcerers of evil and arcane magicks dotted the legions of assassins and cutthroats, all banded together under the standard of the god-demon Fai. Naturally they thrived on chaos, and opposed the prosperity and wealth that would flow if the bridge was built. The mistake was made to send unarmed scouts to either side of the ocean to confirm a starting or ending point. Limbs were found. Nothing more.
Tyiicil Knights escorted the second. A bloody skirmish ensued on either side, but the Knights narrowly emerged victorious and the starting points were confirmed. Our tale begins with two births: A mighty fortress, of stone and crenellations, and a precious infant of flesh and blood. Debates have raged as to which one saved the Bridge of Twin Waters.
