Scorching is the heat of the sun in the desert
Burning everything that lays on the earth
Yet a wanderer braces the hell of this living nightmare
Striving to survive despite whatever might happen.
Pained eyes from the burning light
With the heat having a major effect in the mind
A vision of happiness clouds reason
Yet in truth, it is nothing but a mere illusion.
In the mind it is a light in the dark
A timely salvation from the heavens so high
Despite the energy spent, a new strength emerges
That urges the tired soul to go on until forever
But just as the image is at the grasp
Off it goes mingling with the sand
The painful reality had now struck
That all is nothing but a trick of the mind
Just like that poor wanderer in the desert
The fate is the same to that of a delusional lover
The intensity of the feeling seeped into their mind
And eventually destroyed their might.
Both of them fell victims to some spectral vision
That filled their minds and became an addiction
The wandered, out of heat imagined something for relief
While the lover whose love was unrequited was fooled into something beyond belief.
Yet the wanderer’s life can end right there in the desert
While that of the lover will not depart the earth
On and on he will continue to live
With his heart immersed in grief.
Love with its entire splendor has its thorns
That closes all of Dream’s doors
In the mind it can create a wonderland of pleasure
That makes us blind to the painful truth
Sometimes when love overwhelms our senses
We tend to fall into the vast realm of foolishness
The image of what is true is blocked and pushed behind
Making us believers of an unreal sight
In our eyes it seems like sunlight
Giving very bright smiles
The dreams won’t stop coming
Over and over we believe in the mirage we are seeing.
A/N: Written in the middle of law class (I did this toi keep me from sleeping in the middle of a lesson) so please be gentle... thanks :D
