I call you the angel of my nightmares,

That’s what you are to me.

Yet…the meaning has changed.

Before you were a blessing,

The angel to save me from my doom.

I thought you were my hero,

The one shining light in my nightmares.

Now you are a curse,

Some sin that has plagued me.

You are the puppeteer behind the nightmares,

The twisted king causing me pain.

Your solid black wings no longer protect me,

Instead you torment me,

Slashing my heart over and over again.

You are no longer the angel I sought to keep,

But instead you’re the forbidden angel I pray to slay.
