I…am a dancer.

I may not take lessons,

I may not be part of a company,

I may not create choreography,

But I take my emotions of joy and part of my soul to create spurts of motion to free my soul from its earthly binds.

I may not know the names of ballet moves,

I may not participate in competitions,

I may not “shake my grove thang,”

But I know the joy of participating in an activity that allows me to shake to ground beneath me.

I let the music flow,

I let my body move,

I let my spirit soar,

And I join in the dance of the heavens.
