Sticking syringes in my hand

shreiks with pain

just like the nails

just like the cross

and watch the medication bleed

into me

(this is my body

given up for you)

Line up

dizzying madness

(this is my blood...)

schizo screams

for help

eyes lowered to the floor

messiah complex

handed the little blue pills

and water in a plastic beaker

(do this in memory of me)

takes it to His mouth

blessed sacrament

in a second

flowing

Eli, Eli

Lama sabachthani

(Disclaimer: I'm not a Christian (I'm a Pagan) but I was watching a show on the Community Channel about a schizophrenic man who believed he was the second coming of Jesus. This poem is dedicated to him. Eli, Eli lama sabathani is the Hebrew for “My god, my god, why have you forsaken me?”)
