“Hey! Get up! You’ll be late for school!”
My mom’s voice was still ringing in my ears. Geez, how many times has she said that now? 5? Couldn’t I just sleep for five more minutes? It WAS Friday, and I’ve never been late, I could use a little extra time in the morning.
Then my door opened. “Look, it’s 7 o’clock in the morning, and I need to get your brother to the clinic. You have to drive to school. And you better not be late!” My mom was there in the doorway.
“Yeah, yeah,” I said groggily, not wanting to move/listen. “I’ll be up in a few.”
“Good,” she replied quickly. “I have to get going. I’ll see you when I get back. Have a good day.” She turned on her heel and left. Approximately five minutes later, I heard the garage door open, and then the van leaving. As of right now, I was home alone.
Good thing too, because when I tried to actually get up out of bed, I felt like something was attached to my back. Actually two somethings, attached right to my shoulder blades. That’s weird. I thought, but paid no real attention. I got up, and wandered into the bathroom like I usually did and looked in the mirror.
I had two huge white wings sticking out of my shoulder blades! Between them, they must’ve been at least 13 feet long!
All I could say was: “Holy S—“
HaleyMy alarm was ringing, in the very loud annoying way that it does. I really did NOT want to crawl out of bed and go to school. Not after what happened last night.
Wow, I just sounded all serious like I did something wrong…
Actually, what happened was I went to the hairdressers, and they cut my hair too short! Ok, maybe 3 feet of hair is a little much! But seriously! The girl, I think her name was Cassandra, cut it down to like…3 inches! And there’s nothing I could do about it! Yes, I refused to pay, but still!
So, getting up like I usually do, I’m sure you can imagine that I didn’t want to go to school with hair like a guy who let it grow too long. So I stayed in bed.
“Haley! MOVE!” Came the sound of my brother Taylor from downstairs. “You’ll miss the bus!”
I sighed. “Fine! I’m coming!” I crawled out of bed, and turned on the light. I glanced at myself in the mirror, not wanting to see how short my hair was…but I had to stifle a gasp. My hair was back to 3 feet long! And it was braided like I always wanted it to be!
That was when my mom decided to come in, which me staring at mirror. “Haley, your food’s gonna get—Oh my God! How did that happen?”
I couldn’t help but smirk. Today was going to be a good day.
BradI really should pay more attention to my homework. I really wish I got it all done last night. But I was too busy talking on the Internet again, and it never got finished. Ah well, not a big deal. My grades were fine.
The annoying alarm noise from my clock was going off, but when I went to smack it, it wasn’t in its usual place. I was now forced to crack my eyes open and find it. But, I looked, and it was floating! “What the—“ I found myself saying, grabbing it and putting it down. But when I went to put it down…I was floating in the air too!
In fact, my whole room was floating! Whoa! When did that happen?! I basically panicked, trying to turn off the still beeping alarm when my sister came crashing through the door. “Sheesh, turn off that alarm!” She said, then froze. She had good reason too.
At the very second the door started to open, everything in my room feel back to the ground. Everything, and it all landed in the exact same place that it usually is. Except for me. I missed the bed. So by the time she came in, it looked like I had fallen off it. She gave me the most evil look ever.
“Careful there Brad. Don’t hurt yourself.” Then she walked away laughing about how I fell out of bed.
AlexYesterday was so funny! Firstly, I drew the bestest picture of cheese ever! Then my sister cartwheeled into Dog poop! So much fun! But…sadly, bedtime came and went and now I have to get up in the morning. Which I did, surprisingly without complaining.
Glancing around my cluttered bedroom I found my sketchpad leaning on the wall. I grabbed it, seeing that it still have my super drawing of cheese on it. But, I grabbed it the wrong place! My hand slipped, but instead of dropping my sketchpad, I reached inside it!
Wait a second! That kind of thing only happens in cartoons! So I quickly pulled my hand out of it, and was holding a piece of cheese identical to what I had drawn. “Whoa…Now THAT’s cool.” I said to myself.
I did the only sensible thing to do and a drew a 100 dollar bill. A rough sketch, but hey, it could happen. I finished it quickly, and tried to pull it out again. I was then holding a REAL BENNY FRANKLIN! “Oh…My…God…I’m buying that life-size statue of Dante I always wanted!” I said, perhaps too loudly, but I didn’t care. I was rich! Wait until Derek hears about this!
AmandaI don’t even want to remember what happened last night. Ok, maybe I do. Nothing bad. Lots of homework…That’s really about it. But still, I was up way too late and am much too tired to move. And my hand hurt. It really honestly did.
I crawled out of bed, cursing the sun. And I had drama today too! I wouldn’t be home in like…forever! But…sometimes that just happens. I was about to get up when I looked at my hand. It was seriously a huge shade of purple. Now, I know I write a lot…but seriously! There’s no way I could get that by just writing!
Then it occurred to me…I have no idea what happened last night. I don’t remember actually doing my homework. To make things worse, I barely remember coming home…Man…what happened?
“Amanda! Get up or you’ll be late!” My dad was calling from down stairs.
I glanced at my hand, and decided to head downstairs, when suddenly the doorbell rang. My dad went to get it since I was still in my PJs, and outside was a police officer. I overheard what he said clearly. “Sir, we have reason to believe your daughter may have been involved in a fight last night. It’s possible she seriously hurt someone. We need to speak with her.”
And just like that, I knew I wasn’t going to be in school today.
