TOYS

And then they all rise up

Against me or in support of me

(I never really seem to know)

But in my state of mind I thought,

God, I’m on top of the world

And yet I still feel so small

So insignificant,

And yet,

So worthy and great

And I am

What I make myself out to be –

I am what I think I am

(maybe)

I could tell the truth – face it

Or be lulled to sleep instead,

In peace.

Tasty

Lies are so sweet

And so are delusions

Experience the world.

Dare I say – sense it?

Let it roll around your tongue

And waft through your nose

Let your skin softly graze and just feel it until –

YOU think YOU’RE ready?

Shut up

Just watch –

It’ll overwhelm you

Eat you up, gnaw at you

Until nothing’s left but – who?

You?

Suddenly, you’re unsafe

Unsure

Shattered, psychologically tortured

Left out in the jagged, hemmed moors

And then for some reason, you’re just left baffled

Tell me again

Who am I and who are you?

Friend or foe

Savior or deceiver

Lover or murderer

What thoughts or feelings do you harbor?

Against or in favor - -

Are you safe now?

Secure now?

I warn you

The hills are slippery –

It’s just a little icy

You slowly edge forward (the wind bites)

Carefully… very carefully

You don’t want to fall and then –

CARPE DIEM!!!

You seize the day!
Jump off and then - -

Know nothing more…

Life is… sardonic

Ironic

Blessedly sadistic and masochistic

It’s still a gift – the best damn thing that’s ever happened to me

And little children remain so sweet

Little people – especially the scarred and scared ones – even more savory

Small like ants

Maybe just as insignificant

What do I know?

Children don’t just play with toys

(A/N: As said in The Member of the Wedding, though we all see a green tree and see that it is green, who’s to say we’re all seeing the same shade of green? The world is such a large and mysterious place filled with assumptions. Like this one for example: we’re all just too obscure D
