Reflection On The Place I’ve Ended Up In

I sleep to the beating of waves against the fleets,

And sombre sings the sea;

I wake to the beating of drums in the deep,

And sombre sings the sea;

I rise to the beating of the sun on the breeze,

And sombre sings the sea;

I move to the beating of the birds on the trees,

And wildly sing the leaves.

I look up and watch the emptiness around me,

The solitude that surrounds me,

While sombre sings the sea.

All is still, but screaming.
