Forbidden Fruit 2- The Angel of Death
The Story So Far:
Night, a rebellious angel, was sent to Earth as a punishment by God for attacking the Arch Angel Gabriel. While on Earth Night met the bubbly and active Jen, and her step brother Sam; a gay, suicidal teenager with an abusive father. Night unwillingly befriended the pair and learnt of Sam’s father.
After Sam died from serious injuries inflicted by his father, Night dived down to the gates of Hell before Sam’s soul passed through them and into the grasp of Lucifer. An unexpected kiss turned Night’s heart around and he vowed to protect Sam with his life; that was until Gabriel, who was jealous of his brother’s love for Sam, stole the teen’s soul and handed it to Lucifer personally. Night challenged Lucifer to a battle; both Gabriel and a fellow Arch Angel Michael sacrificed themselves so the two lovers could continue with their lives.
Now Lucifer wants revenge and he’ll get it one way or another.
(Damian’s POV)
I’d seen it all, the whole underworld had. Our master-Lucifer-had been defeated by the brother of Gabriel. I had heard rumors of that so called angel, how he terrorizes the Heavens doing as he may, having a relationship with the human that rightfully belonged here. That was what sickened me the most.
Master was not pleased with the outcome of the battle, he wanted to win, he wanted one more soul to torture, and when one finally fell through the gates he spent hours with it, making it scream and beg. The soul was named Mark and had a certain resemblance to the human that was here, Sam, I learnt later that it was his father. I figured it was kind of a coincidence; Master wanted Sam’s soul but ended up with his father’s instead. Either way Master had another soul to torture for eternity.
“Damian!” He roared from his throne. I strolled over and knelt down on one knee with my head down. The temperature seemed to rise all of a sudden, all the other demons scurried out of sight and harms way, Master usually used them for target practice when he was as angry.
“Master?”
“Damian how long has it been since I was refused that human’s soul?”
“Two months, Sir.”
He growled. “Is that all?”
“Yes Sir.”
“It feels like an eternity ago and not a day has gone by that I have not wished for a change for revenge.” He said to himself and clenched the armrest of his throne. “When was the last time you did some real work for me, Damian?”
“The second world war, Sir.” I didn’t raise my head when I answered. “You sent me for Adolph Hitler’s soul.”
“What about the New York attacks in September?” He asked.
“That was you, Sir, and fine work it was.”
“Ah yes, so it was.” He gloated for a moment. “You know I cannot leave the underworld, Correct?”
“Yes Sir.”
“And I am, unfortunately, still recovering from my battle. So I am giving you a great responsibility, will you accept it?”
“It would be an honor, Sir.”
“Very good.” I felt him smile. “I want you to go to Earth and defeat Night on my behalf.”
“But Sir.” I finally raised my head, my eyes meeting his. “If you couldn’t defeat him what chance would I have?”
“Because I have every faith in you, my youngest minion. I believe you will destroy that rebellious angel and bring his head to me.”
I felt honored. He had chosen me over all his other minions to be the one that seeks revenge on his behalf. I smiled and lowered my head again, feeling the excitement swirl around my stomach. “As you command, Master. You won’t be disappointed.”
“Be on your way then and good luck.”
“Thank you for this opportunity, Master.” I stood and turned, walking to the gates of fire guarded by Cerberus. I knew I had to be discreet so I wouldn’t alert the Arch Angels of my intentions. “Enjoy your final days Night.” I smiled to myself. “As your downfall will be by my hands alone!”
