I can't believe it. I actually wrote a non-cynical, non-negative, kind of mushy love poem. Ha. And some thought this day would never come... ;-)

It's fluff, I know. Enjoy.

She’s a Cinderella, sitting on a curb,

Torn prom dress and much left to learn,

Shooting stars don’t always make the cut,

Cuz in real life no one’s high on luck

-

She sings because no one’s listening,

She sits when she feels like dancing,

‘Hide myself’ is just another thing on her to-do list,

“There’s gotta be a way outta this.”

-

He’s a prince without a throne,

A wandering boy without a home,

He’s driving around late at night,

Because guessing is the only way to get it right

-

He sees her sitting and he dips a bow,

The clock said eleven, but his heart said now,

She takes his hand and stands again,

Maybe tonight two hearts can mend

-

They dance into the evening’s summer heat,

For a moment like this, they just can’t speak,

They lay in the grass with the fireflies

Cuz true love doesn't die with the morning rise.
