She is

Just another passerby, treading on your street

Just another nameless face, a stranger you will meet

Average, so ordinary, forever blending in

You care not where she’s going, and

You know not where she’s been...

x

And you

Will never know how she’s fallen from grace

How she tries so hard to rise.

You’ll see a smile, resting on her face

And sparkles dancing in her eyes

You’ll never see her tearstained cheeks

(Maybelline conceals them well)

You are deaf to the sounds she hears..

Blind to her personal hell.

x

Because she is

Just another passerby, treading on your street

Just another nameless face, a stranger you will meet

But she’s far beyond that -

look closer, look closer

- see a fighter, a hero, a brokenhearted soldier

Fighting life’s battles, right alongside you...

She’s average, ordinary,

But she has her struggles too.
