Every feeling, every word he knows
Dances circles in his mind
Twisting themselves around his very being
Choking, choking
But he doesn’t need
To draw breaths anyway.

Velvet, pain, crimson, shadows
Demons laugh in their dark corners
And point with sharpened claws
Mocking, mocking
He tries to ignore
The truths they whisper.

She loosens her auburn tresses
They fall over pale, bare shoulders
Stirs the air with her intoxicating scent
Slowly, slowly
He leans in closer
Desire overrides his senses.

This forgotten sin, damned monster within
Bares its fangs in scarlet ecstasy
But lies dormant behind his amber eyes
Trusting, trusting
Sweet, naïve little child
You dream of suicide.

His hand fits perfectly beneath her chin
But her noose comes away with ease
Replaced by his silent breaths
Careful, careful
Something stirs within them
Angels and demons collide.

He brushes her throat with cold lips
Hands betray what lies beneath bloodless flesh
And she doesn’t dare breathe
Fearing, fearing
That this might end
Too fast, too slow.

His sigh whispers down her neck
Making her shiver in his arms
He kisses her as gently as possible
Loving, lusting
Which is it now?
He draws away slowly.

The ghost of a smile graces his perfect features
And he closes his eyes, content for now
He never wants to know
