Deep red against white

Dramatic outburst

A beautiful sight

Dead roses in steel cups

Lined up in a row

Counting deaths

The vampire’s toll

There’s that contrast

Red blood against white floor

Another lifeless rose added

And my death, one more

I wrote this last night, after some healthy trick or treating (I got so many little packs of Skittles, it's not even funny. Tjhose things are the best) when I was in the Halloween spirit. But I really like this one. --Ss.
