I'm a lifeguard, so it's my job to save people. But I couldn't save the person who mattered most. Reviews appreciated.

I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I couldn't see
You're drowning, you're drowning in front of me
I'm frozen, I'm frozen, I'm frozen in time
As it slowly drags on, defying all reason and rhyme
I have the knowledge but not the power
To save you from your watery bower
I don't have the courage; I'm a coward at heart
I can't save you from your horrific art
It hurts me; I'm sick with grief and with pain
As my whistle cries out its twisted refrain
I pull you out, lips frozen and blue
I could save all the others, but I couldn't save you
