Dogs’ Point of View

America the beautiful,

America the brave,

America the free;

That’s what people say.

Iraq and Aphganistan;

I don’t understand.

Russia, Japan, Spain;

Can you explain?

Why are their bombs?

I do not know.

People are losing homes,

Living bare in the snow.

It’s not fair…I don’t get it!

When I look at people

I don’t see dark tans or

People in different clans.

I see one race, just one.

I see smiles and laughter.

I see tears and hopeful embraces.

I thought a child yelled, “No more war!”

But who’d listen to a child.

I wish I could alter human perception and time

Because the only race that I see

Is humankind.
